ETERNITY RINGS

Eternity rings symbolises forever love. There is no specific occasion when the ring is given to a loved one. It may be for an anniversary, the birth of a child, or just a means of proclaiming your love for someone. In short, it means just what its name suggests, an eternal promise of love towards a loved one.

The most popular choice of gemstones for an eternity ring is undoubtedly diamonds. Even though rubies, emeralds or sapphires are also used, diamonds to the chart of any list for an eternity ring. A diamond gives a sentimental, sophisticated and refined feeling to the purpose of the ring. The gemstones’ shape is equally important to the choice of the stone itself. A square or

rhombus shape is preferred over a rounded structure as they are easier to cut and fit together.

The eternity rings come in different styles as well – the Full and Half eternity rings. The full eternity ring is one that has stones fitted all around the ring’s surface. The stones for this type need to be small enough to be fitted along the entire ring; else it gets unfeasible to wear. Also, they have to be custom-made as they would depend on the size and design of the individual. Half eternity rings are ones that have stones placed only on the face of the ring. This is better preferred as they are easier to make, to wear and all the stones are visible. Needless to say, the Full category is the more expensive rings.

Eternity rings are normally worn along with the wedding ring on the ring finger. They can also be worn in place of the wedding ring or along with the engagement ring alone or all three, i.e. the wedding ring, engagement ring and eternity ring, may be worn together on the same finger. All in all, regardless of the rings style, cost or reason, it is the emotional sentiment that carries the maximum weight.
