A touring Caravan is a type of recreational vehicle which is used for travelling, especially for vacational purposes. They may be used on a temporary basis by a group of people on vacation, or also by a caravan agency for taking people on tours around tourist spots. The touring caravan owned by agencies will generally have a tour guide to explain the places interesting facts to the tourists.

A touring caravan comes equipped with all facilities that might be required for an extended stay in tourist places that is if it’s being used for personal holidays with family or friends. It will have beds, food cum storage places, a table and chairs, etc. Some advanced touring caravans will also contain a full-fledged bathroom, living room, bedrooms and even refrigerators & kitchens. One can also request for special features like television and internet connections etc. Some really high-tech touring caravans also come with built-in treadmills if you need the exercise.

There are many different types of touring caravans as well. The 2 broad classification is based on the use – personal and agency caravans. Some other categories are a campervan, a motorhome, a folding trailer, hybrid trailer, a toterhome, and a toy hauler. All these are basically different designs that a touring caravan comes in.

A typical touring caravan with all the basic features would cost around 6700 pounds. But if you go for a more expensive one with advanced facilities as mentioned above, it would cost you anywhere between 67000 pounds and 436000 pounds.

Touring caravans are most often found parked at special locations called as the Caravan parks, where one would have features like electricity, water supplies, and other basic needs. These areas can also serve as re-fuelling and re-stocking stations for the touring caravan. The only major disadvantage of a touring caravan would be the fuel-efficiency levels, which can get very expensive. But otherwise, they are perfect to enjoy an on-the-move holiday.
