Beef

The National Beef Expo is held every year in UK by the National Beef Association.


The Beef Expo 2007 was held at Skipton Auction Mart, Yorkshire on May 17. The even fascinated around 6000 beef producers spread across UK and Ireland. There were also foreign visitors whose strength was more than 100. That day more than ₤500,000 of export business was generated and witnessed a record attendance of beef farmers. The even hosted many demonstrations and practical seminars to do real business throughout the day. There was an effort to see how the cots can be reduced and value added to the product. The aim of the event was to help the producers see how they could increase their profit and also sustain the business in the process. The expo also attracted a record of 160 stalls and the Best Breed Award went to Limousin breed. The sponsors included CCM Skipton, Dugdale Nutrition, Intervet, Dunbia, EBLEX, Keenan, KW Alternative Feeds, Yara and British Limousin Cattle Society.


The National Spectacular Show of suckled calves was also one of the events at the expo and was sponsored by Caltech and attracted as many as 42 exhibitors. The first prize was given to Tecwyn Jones, a Welsh exhibitor.


The Beef Expo 2008 was held at Perth Agriculture Centre on May 21. The theme of the event was to help the beef farmers to get long-term profits. It provided a common stage for producers and supermarket sellers to discuss the future of beef industry. There was discussion on a wide range of topics like practical demonstrations, educational exhibits, breed society displays, genetics and husbandry, seminars and competitions, and trade stands.


The Beef Expo 2009 will be held at Worcestershire and is scheduled to be on May 21, 2009. This event is the most prominent event for the beef producers and attracts thousands of them from all over the world. The main themes in this event will be improvement of horticulture, agriculture and livestock breeding.
