MOST EXPENSIVE DESIGNER PENS

Pens have always symbolised a certain class in the upper socialites. There are many types of designer pens which come with ornate outer covering. The techniques used in the reservoir ink pens are advanced involving capillary techniques and cartridges built in the pen. The best of craftsmen are involved in designing the pen.

The most expensive designer pen created cost around £487,000 and was jointly created between Van Cleef & Arpels and Mont Blanc. It was considered a masterpiece, each pen have around 840 diamonds and a lot more than 20 carats of gemstones. This is set in a Van Cleef and Arpels patented “Mystery Setting” that covers up the stone settings. On top of the culet a groove is made, the bottom part of the stone is slid on top of the layers of the lattice design so that the stone stays in place without appearing like it has been supported. The designer pen can be studded with rubies, emerald or sapphires along with diamonds. This masterpiece took about a year and a half to be created by skilled craftsmen.

Another expensive pen is the La Modernista Diamonds, it was designed by Caran d’Ache in the year 1999. It was sold in London and Harrods at a price of £177,164 and was deemed the most expensive pen in the Guinness World Records in the year 2001. The designer pen was made of an 18 carat rhodium-coated golden nib and was set with totally 5,072 Wesselton diamonds. It consists of 96 rubies totalling up to 32 carats. It was made by Robert Perron and it took him a total of 6 months to finish the piece.

The Visconti brand is the best brand well known for its style, quality and creativity. The best pen by this brand would be Ripple H.R.H Limited Edition fountain pen.
