DEVONSHIRE JUNIOR SCHOOL

The Devonshire Junior School is situated in the city of Blackpool in Lancashire. It is a junior school of the county, both for boys and girls, from the ages of 7 years to 11 years. The junior school can be accessed from two directions, the Auckland road as well as the Stony Lane Park. The Devonshire infant school is also situated in the same campus as its junior school, and it has special facilities which are used by both institutions.

The Devonshire Junior School has a total of twelve classes of mixed-ability teachings. They also have a News group, which meets on each Tuesday during the lunch time, to have a session on all the major events that have taken place that they need to report on. Their most recent event held on the news group is a drawing competition for all students of the junior school, based upon the theme of Nature.

The Devonshire Junior School also conducts regular activities to improve the student’s skill sets. They have many minor events held in the classrooms itself, where they encourage the children to be creative and put down their talent on to paper. The junior school corridors are completely filled with clippings of the best work that the students themselves have done. This gives the children a sense of confidence, and encourages them to do more and do better when they see that others are appreciating their work. Some of the activities that have been held at the junior school recently are a health eating writing and picture collage, the best hand-writing program, and of course the news group competitions.

The Devonshire junior school also has a unique program called the Data Protection program, where the student’s data is processed in order to assist in the child’s learning, to keep track of their progress levels, to give proper pastoral needs, and to check on the school’s overall progress.
